Circus Songs

Pretty Lisa
In the fair ground Pretty Lisa's selling candy by the bar.
Pretty Lisa's training hard to be a high wire star
Lisa's life is just a journey on the roundabout
everything is very pretty until the ride runs out

Dashing Tony is her trainer, he got straight white teeth

Lisa thinks that he's an angel, well he's a pimp and he's a thief

Tony has his pretty Lisa tatooed from head to toe

now she's working in a booth in the Freak-show

Tony hits his pretty Lisa but everything is fine

the tatooes they hide the bruises every time.

The Tiger Lillies

Just a Minute in October!

Reading...At the moment I'm in the middle of "The Castle" by Antoine de Saint Exupery and "In Search of Lost Time by Marcel Proust. The first one is almost like a crazy monologue of about 500 pages...! ! ! But I believe there are a lot of brilliant thoughts in it. About Proust...I'm still reading the first volume, which I am about to finish soon -there are fifteen volumes, so wish me luck.

Keeping...control...naaaaaaaaah!! I have given up myself to eating and eating and eating these days...! It's beyond my powers!

Watching... The Rocky Horror Picture Show! I just can't get enough! I love every second of it.
Listening... maniacally to the Tiger Lillies, Arcade Fire and the songs from RHPS. It's more like an obsession, which I am totally enjoying!

Loving... one of my proffesors at school, it's a little bit awkward! And I don't even have class with him this year...I'm miserable!

Wanting... To travel...anywhere in the world as soon as possible!

Trying... to get healthy again, I have a soar throat that is really making me mad, AND a running nose that won't let me sleep in peace!

Hoping... to find some inspiring meaning in life and stay tuned...

Stuck In Celluloid Jam

Finally I'm back on here!! Absobloominglutely nothing exceptional is going on in my life...I am supposed to be studying all day long, in order to pass my university exams by the end of the year. It's a disaster. Seriously.
There's one fact though that has psyched me up. I watched the Rocky Horror Picture Show. It is gorgeously exciting and fresh even today. That means that it is a classic undoubtedly. And the actors all seemed to me very special and talented. Riff Raff (Richard O'Brian) also wrote the play. Frank-N-Furter I believe is a good reason alone to make you adore the film. Played by Tim Curry (also seen in Amadeus as Mozart). Curry looks as if he's totally enjoying every scene and song of the film.

Also I thought the songs all are very special, the time warp and sweet transvestite of course top it!
Tim Curry and O'Brian have magnificent voices...very jazzy and cabaret-like.

Frank-N-Furter

The story is all about a newly engaged couple (Brad and Janet) that get stuck with their car in the middle of nowhere and go seeking for help when they see a tower. So they knock on the door and Riff Raff opens up. They are searching for a phone. After the "Let's do the Time Warp Again" sang by Riff Raff, Magenta, Columbia and the Transylvanians, Frank enters the room. He is a mad scientist who has managed to create a human being, "a man with blond hair and a tan, and he's good for relieving my tension" and "my favourite obsession" as he himself states. This creature of the night is Rocky Horror. Brad and Janet stay for the night, maybe for a bite too, as they come to discover their sexuality, driven by Frank.

I am not going to tell you how it all ends up. But the final line is one of the best last lines of all films. The criminologist who narrates the story comes in and says in an almost ironic tone of voice: " And crawling, on the planet's face, some insects, called the human race. Lost in time, and lost in space... and meaning." Quite cynical, isn't it?

"Its just a step to left, and then a step to the right, put your hands on your hips and bend your knees in tight. Well, it's the pelvic thrust that really drives you insa-a-a-a-a-ane, Let's do the time warp agaaaaaain."

"Let me show you around, maybe play you a sound. You look like you're both pretty groovy."

A very rich film. Rich in tunes, images, witt, ...and meaning. In all, deliciously outrageous.
